i started it because of both female and male casts.
you know when you've watch kdramas alooooooot and partial you are watching is for acting, plot, aesthetics than watching it as a kdrama ROFL.
some background. mom used to watch kdramas on vcd/dvd etc then we will binge together (though i have zero memory of storylines.. from winter sonata or even earlier days).. then came internet and downloads then people do translations and goong was hugeeee. then boys over flowers was huge again where i got into kpop.. but during my uni years i really have the time and becos of covid and how media has changed to be i tend to type it as media surplus meaning if you have the internet ok fine alot are subscription based.. you get to choooooooooooose what you can watch! and you are able to educate yourself in different ways! so, definitely able to stream a little after korea broadcast in HD is fortunate worthy for me. hehe
but since ive watched so much kdramas or stuff and i do watch for plot (i used to be wanting to appreciate stuff and sit through stuff and force self to watch without fastforwarding/watching last episode etc etc or if i start i don't drop.. but anyway you are totally allowed to drop stuff or watch faster speed ya. time is money. of course it doesnt mean you have to always fully appreciate everything when you are tied for time aint it. i thought that becos i was rushing my assignments i wouldn't use faster speed after i finish uni but hey im still using faster speed at times...)
TIP for watching at faster speed becos precious time.. aside from netflix - you airdrop from phone or iPad to iMac and you can put the show at faster speed
honestly i didn't like how the overall videography/cinematography is. it felt too "unreal" (i know it is a drama but you get me. korea tend to edit alot of dramas too heavily in terms of 'colours' to give a certain vibe etc. which i HONESTLY do NOT fancy but whatever my opinion is like. nothing haha)
plot went full makjang (google about it if you are new to this word). i didn't like it. i mean if you wanna do makjang, then do full blown makjang revenge plot. people watch those for the full blown drama. you do it partial characters. and it is just. meh in taste.
the casts were great.
theres definitely great lines. but overall message i dont feel like id RECOMMEND people to watch it???
like id say oh if you like the casts, watch
if you dont, you may dislike it midway.
like you may find it waste of time oops.
skip? sure.
kdramas i felt was 'wow' at the point of watch (in no order)
hospital playlist
extraordinary you (though i just saw some reddit comments meh ing it but i especially liked about discovering self vs society/others expectations of you that auto pilot state etc. to move out of those shells and be yourself kinda aspect)
search www (i skipped ml fl parts but the overall empowering women)
extraordinary attorney woo
daily dose of sunshine is also quite worthy a watch - i did a mental health module for special ed and it was on my watch list after exams i kinda felt i should have watched it before exams becos i din know what it was about. haha then i felt like the show depicted what i studied. damn. hehe
pyramid game i din enjoy the "bullying" aspects but the way i enjoyed it (i typed to a friend some rants while watching queen of tears, lovely runner & blood free... she watched it after i told her in person and insta story'ed it hahahahaha.. and she was like thanks for the reco.... i typed that i enjoy a drama that is powerful not powerless.. i guess why i awkwardly enjoyed revenge/law dramas ROFL when it is GOOD.)
like life can be so powerless in alot of aspects. why should i make myself feel even more powerless when i watch a drama (this is very something about the uncanny counter...)..
FYI.. only in kdramas people will "INSTANTLY" change for the good. IRL it doesnt really ?exist???????????????????????????????? so don't be fooled and be wishing that someone will realise they are at fault all along blablabla. it is really on their end to do alot of work to 'realise' they are at fault.
