haha i guess pets are born to be liked..
sis used to always rescue/save/bring dogs from nearby home.. then mom calls SPCA and they come collect the dog and i be bawling... well i went to get pet food, washed the dog. so what do you think..
then sis got her own dog then it passed due to heart related stuff i believe it may be genetics in philippines beagles. well, i did browse morisette's insta just weeks ago and she mentioned abt how her beagle puppy ish was at hospital.. FYI~ theres also something about golden retriever bred in SG/some leg issues too..
the thing about having pure breed dogs is genetic issues and etc.. (note: im never a "against a certain country" kind of concept but more of it is an individual problem kind of thing so im not against ph or anything)
sister's beagle was 7ish years old. if you google, statistics say MINIMUM age is like 10. uhm okay. i noticed the breathing was tedious and brought to vet. the 1st vet we went was just horrible. frankel veterinary center. they ran tests, gave some medicines and couldnt do anything/unsure what is wrong. so sis fren brought us to furrytails vet the next day then was admitted to ves later but ves didn't gave us prognosis and not like i knew how to ask about it/we din think that it will be the worst case situation.. i totally told mom to come see the dog becos we wouldnt know whats gonna happen (she was a bit lazy and din wanna trouble stuff)..
i signed the do cpr form and questioning it in my brains.
ok i wished ves would have told us it aint good prognosis in all dogs for such heart related stuff & that maybe we could stay there to accompany the dog.
they called my house but i shut off everything at night as per mom. flight mode (also health issues)
and her friends came knocking at our house.
they were already doing cpr when we reached..
based on my understanding after watching plenty of kdrama medical or reading up.
anything related to heart or brain for a living thing... the chance of alright prognosis (meaning the quality of life or after the treatment whats gonna happen ok fine pls google)
is not so great
so we asked the ?caretaker? to freeze the dog till my sis is back in sg
becos she went for work posting elsewhere.
anyway about 6 months down the road.
sister adopted a cat
the cat looks like a kitten cos "baby face" does exist in cats too (ive seen another cat at the vet and he was also much older but looks young too)
but she may be 10yo or older idk. (due to cysts? in her ears..)
OH YES if you are in singapore and you wanna have a pet. do consider medical costs $$$...
so the cat does look for me etc. unlike dogs (or when i was younger my aunt's dogs)
then since i had time to look back at past 30+ years and recent.
i was reflecting and thinking about death.
also, friend has both parents taken away from friend becos of cancer. and for my age. it is fairly young to have lost both parents.
well, yes the dad is a supportive parent so of course friend still upset about it or the way friend puts it.
and i guess. is about 'regrets' did i do enough
did i put my best
was i .............
and so on.
that people constantly 'cant get over' something.
is my pov becos i realised that after interacting with the cat in march 2022 (she was adopted in feb 2021, dog passed aug 2020).
and gradually i actually kind of "let go" of everything for dog.
idk im someone who.. i guess leos have alot of love to give as per my sagi friend cos friend's dad is leo lol
so i dont feel that i did anything that was "not enough" for the dog.
so what can i "do for the cat" now so i wont regret anything.. lol
yes, the method to "feel better" is indeed having another pet.
it isn't a replacement but an addition to your family
it isnt that complicated :)
